Mahwah: Exhibit by Mexican Master Folk Painter
The exhibition of paintings by Marcial Camilo Ayala features landscapes, village scenes, and more dream-like imagery. Originally from the Guerrero region of Mexico, Ayala is the best-known practitioner of amate painting, a technique where artists paint on a bark surface. Gallery Hours Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 1 – 5 p.m.; Wednesday 1 – 7 p.m. Opening day includes a preview reception (5 – 7 p.m.) and a talk by Dr. Tyler Cowen (6 p.m.).
